Senior Services

The City provides services that support independence, safety, health, and active living for seniors. We work with community partners to support services that include care management, jobs, training, volunteering, recreation and transportation assistance.

Senior Centers

The City Oakland Senior Centers Remain Closed

Based on guidance issued from both California and Alameda County Public Health experts the best way to control the spread COVID-19 is for people to stay home and away from crowds and social spaces unless necessary. This is particularly important for older adults and people with compromised immune systems or with underlying health conditions. We will continue to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 and reopen Senior Centers when we believe it is safe for our members.

Please see the links for Senior Center Classes and Services open to the public. While Senior Center membership provides access to a wider variety of programs and services we recognize how important it is for us to extend our amenities to the broader Elder community during this time of crises. We hope that you join our Senior Centers Without Walls open access and decide to join our community as a member.
