Truck Management Plan Progress

Implementation of the Truck Management Plan (TMP) started in July 2019. Below is a summary of OakDOT's work on the TMP Strategies.

TMP Strategy 1: Improve Safety at Street Intersections Near the Port

• OakDOT's 7th Street Connection Project will improve safety at 7th Street intersections between Mandela Parkway and MLK Jr Way

TMP Strategies 2 & 3: Update to Truck Route Network (work ongoing)

• April 2022: Truck Route Changes Not Adopted by Council

TMP Strategy 4 Improve Truck Route Signage

• Existing truck route and truck prohibited signs will be updated / replaced via the West Oakland STEP grant by 2026

TMP Strategy 7: Improve Training for Issuing Parking Tickets

• In 2022, Parking Enforcement staff were trained on 2022 updates to parking regulations in West Oakland
• Parking Enforcement Staff will procure four vehicle license plate readers via the West Oakland STEP grant by 2026

TMP Strategy 8: Change Parking Regulations (completed)

• April 2022: Parking regulations were updated to limit trucks in West Oakland
