Age Friendly 5 Year Strategic Action Plan

The City of Oakland's Human Services Department, Aging and Adult Services (AAS) division and the Mayor's Commission on Aging (MCOA) are working together on a communitywide planning project to make Oakland Age Friendly.

Together we will:

• Identify the needs of Oakland residents aged 55 and older and adults with disabilities.
• Establish priorities to address these needs.
• Develop a clear, actionable 5-year plan for Oakland residents to age well and thrive in the community.

The Mayor's Commission on Aging (MCOA) works in partnership with the Department of Human Services to develop and evaluate programs to address the special needs of our City's diverse senior residents. A primary function of the Commission is to support the City's network of Senior Centers.

The Commission on Aging is chartered for 11 members, nominated by the City Council or the Mayor. The diverse Commission membership represents the variety of communities in the City of Oakland.
