Oakland Earth Day - Saturday, April 19, 2025

We joined together for Oakland's 31st Annual Earth Day to celebrate our planet with a day filled with sustainability, community, and environmental action! We honored our beautiful city and committed to making a positive impact for generations to come.

🌍 Thank You for Making Oakland Earth Day a Success! 🌿

To all the incredible site leads, volunteers, and community members who showed up with passion and purpose, thank you. Your dedication and energy made this year's Oakland Earth Day an inspiring celebration of action and care, Rooted in Love for our City and our Planet!

Whether you led a cleanup site, planted a tree, or picked up a single piece of trash, your effort matters. Because of you, Oakland is cleaner and greener.

“Earth Day is every day. Get involved, stay involved.” 💚

This isn’t just a one-day event—it's a movement. And we’re just getting started. Stay tuned for upcoming updates on the impact we made together, including volunteer data, waste collected, and more highlights from across Oakland.

About

“The environment is where we all meet, where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.” ― Lady Bird Johnson

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, the City of Oakland's Environmental Services Stewardship Team joins the global celebration of Earth Day, a tradition that began in 1970 to raise awareness about environmental issues. Now observed in over 190 countries, Earth Day continues to inspire communities worldwide to take action. In Oakland, volunteers will participate in environmental projects such as tree plantings, weeding, pruning, and habitat restoration throughout the city. As part of this enduring tradition, they’ll also engage in litter cleanup, graffiti removal, and other hands-on activities, making a lasting impact on our environment and community!
