Get Involved in Two Ways!
Join us in making a difference in Oakland! You can get involved in two ways:
- Lead a Volunteer Project – Site Registration Opens Mid-February- Take the lead in organizing and managing a stewardship project. Whether it's restoring a green space, coordinating a clean-up, or leading a planting effort, we’ll provide the support you need!
- Volunteer at a Project Site – Sign up to participate in an existing project and contribute your time to hands-on community improvement efforts. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm!

About
"The environment is where we all meet, where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share." ― Lady Bird Johnson
On Saturday, April 19, 2025, the City of Oakland's Environmental Services Stewardship Team celebrated Oakland Earth Day with environmental volunteer events, such as tree plantings, weeding and pruning, and habitat restoration across the city. Volunteers also picked up litter, removed graffiti, and participated in other service events!
