Oakland’s 32nd Annual Earth Day brought together a powerful day of sustainability, community, and environmental action! Hundreds of volunteers came together to honor our city and create a lasting impact for generations to come.

With over 75 projects united by one goal, the event showcased the strength, dedication, and spirit of Oakland’s community. A huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to all the leaders, organizers, volunteers, partners, and participants who made this year’s Earth Day a success. Your hard work, passion, and commitment to a cleaner, greener future helped make a meaningful difference across our neighborhoods.

Together, we celebrated community, inspired action, and continued building a more sustainable Oakland for future generations.

About

"The environment is where we all meet, where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share." ― Lady Bird Johnson

The Environmental Stewardship Unit is a division of Environmental Services within Oakland Public Works. We support civic engagement through programs, events, and collaboration, bringing individuals together and providing resources for a clean, green, and beautiful Oakland.

On the third Saturday of April every year, the City of Oakland's Environmental Services Stewardship Team celebrates Oakland Earth Day with environmental volunteer events, such as tree plantings, weeding and pruning, and habitat restoration across the city. Volunteers pick up litter, remove graffiti, and participate in other service events!
