Dr. L. Lawrence Brandon, is a faith leader, community builder, and organizational strategist whose work bridges ministry, civic leadership, and community development. He is the Founder of Praise Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, and currently serves as the third pastor of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, California. 

Dr. Brandon has extensive experience in public service and governance. He has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the Shreveport Regional Airport Authority Board and the Louisiana State Ethics Board. His civic involvement also includes leadership roles in community development organizations, housing corporations, and youth and reentry initiatives. A United States Air Force veteran, he has served as a chaplain to law enforcement and public safety agencies and has been invited to serve as Guest Chaplain for both the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate. 

Deeply committed to civic and social development, Dr. Brandon has co-founded and led initiatives focused on education, reentry, housing, and community development. He is also a prolific author whose works explore faith, leadership, resilience, and family life. 

Dr. Brandon holds a Doctor of Ministry in Church Ministries and Leadership from Oral Roberts University and has pursued advanced studies at institutions including Harvard Divinity School. A pastor, mentor, and community advocate, he is guided by a simple principle that shapes his work and ministry: we are better together. He resides in District 3.
