Request Tools for Your Volunteer Beautification Event

Use the form above to provide information about your event (who, what, where, when, why) and request tools from Oakland Public Works** for your volunteer cleaning or greening project on City of Oakland land or right of way.
**Non-volunteer events are not eligible.
Lending Guidelines:
- Submit tool requests at least one week before your preferred pick-up date. More lead time is appreciated. We may not be able to fulfill late requests.
- In January, April, and September, due to city wide volunteer events (MLK Day, Earth Day, and Creek to Bay Day), requests must be submitted one month in advance.
- Tool loans can be picked up at either of our two locations - the loading dock at 250 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza or 5050 Coliseum Way. Tools may be picked up Monday - Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Notify the Stewardship team at adoptaspot@oaklandca.gov or submit the Tool Return Form when you plan to drop off tools.
- After your event, please count tools and fill out the Tool Return Column on your Tool Return Slip provided at tool pick up.
- Return tools no later than five days after your event.
- Tools may be dropped off in the same pickup location, Monday - Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Please clean tools before returning.
- After your volunteer event, report your volunteer activity to our reporting form.
- If you do not report your event details or return your tools you will not be able to borrow tools a second time.
- Long-term tool rentals are available for groups that conduct clean-ups one or more times per month. Long-term tool rentals must be requested.
- Not all tool requests are guaranteed; our supply is based on tool inventory and when volunteers return tools.
