The Oakland Discovery Center at the Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center is a free, hands-on program where kids can explore, build, and create while having fun. Children learn by doing—asking questions, trying new ideas, and discovering how things work through science, art, and making.

Our welcoming workshop space gives youth access to tools, materials, and caring staff who support creativity and curiosity. Kids are encouraged to follow their interests, work at their own pace, and see learning as something exciting and meaningful.
