The 2nd Street Transit Hub & Bike Lane Connection project aims to create safer and easier connections for transit riders by linking four AC Transit bus routes, the SF Bay Ferry terminal, and the Jack London Amtrak Station. The project proposes to achieve these goals by:
The project scope was defined through prior planning and engagement efforts, including plans such as the Downtown Oakland Specific Plan and the Howard Terminal Transportation Plan. Building on past engagement, the project team met with key stakeholders from Fall 2023 to Winter 2024 to ensure that the project scope aligned with current community needs and to inform the conceptual plans.
