As part of our ongoing efforts to improve public safety and reduce violent crime, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) recently made several arrests. Officers recovered multiple dangerous firearms during the investigation.
On July 1, 2025, OPD Ceasefire officers observed multiple individuals in East Oakland with firearms. When the individuals left the area, Ceasefire officers, OPD Special Resource Section (SRS) East, and California Highway Patrol (CHP) Air Support followed the group to Pinole, where they entered a short-term rental property.
OPD officers obtained and served a search warrant at the residence, safely taking five individuals into custody: three juveniles and two adults. Officers recovered four firearms, including one assault rifle, at the scene.
OPD remains committed to removing illegal firearms from our neighborhoods and will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community.
