Public Art Prequalified Roster Landing Page Test

The City of Oakland’s Public Art Program maintains a prequalified roster of visual and public artists. The roster is used for commissioning new, original, and site-responsive public artwork for the City of Oakland in collaboration with other City departments.

Artists included on the roster are not guaranteed a commission but are pre-approved by the Public Art Advisory Committee for consideration for upcoming City supported public art projects. Artists were selected by a panel of Oakland-based arts professionals who reviewed and evaluated each artist application. The roster includes 260 talented artists, mostly from Oakland and the greater Bay Area, with a broad range of media and public art experience levels.

The roster is made available as a public document. Most of the artists have provided links to their websites and their Instagram handles, so that you may contact them directly. The artist list below is in alphabetical order by last name, and includes the artists’ city of residence, website/social media (if provided by artist), and mediums. Artists’ media have been categorized by staff based on their application submittals.

If you have any questions about the roster, please contact Public Art Program staff: Kristen Zaremba at kzaremba@oaklandca.gov and/or Josie de Mira at jdemira@oaklandca.gov

You can use the search window below to find an artist by name, or search by mediums such as murals, paintings, mosaic, sculpture, glass, etc.
