Five Arrested in Connection to a Crime Spree

Five Arrested in Connection to a Crime Spree

  The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has arrested five juveniles in connection with multiple robberies and carjackings.

On March 19, 2024, OPD officers located two carjacked vehicles driving together in the area of 14th Street and International Boulevard. Officers assigned to OPD police helicopter (ARGUS) and Special Resources Section (SRS) West followed the vehicles from a safe distance into the Brooklyn Basin, where the five occupants exited the vehicle before being safely taken into custody.

Both carjacking incidents occurred on March 19, 2024. One incident occurred in the 3800 block of Agua Vista Street, where the victim told officers one of the individuals used a firearm during the carjacking. The other incident occurred in the 3500 block of Fruitvale Avenue, where the victim reported an individual pointing an unidentified weapon at them before leaving the area in the victim’s vehicle.

One of the vehicles is also connected to a robbery in the city of Alameda.
