OPD Makes Another Arrest in Robbery Series

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) arrested an individual responsible for committing several robberies. These robberies occurred over the course of more than a year at a business located in the 3000 block of East 9th Street.

The first incident occurred on June 28, 2021, just after 3:00 PM. The victim told officers that an individual entered the business and took several items. As the individual fled the store, they brandished a firearm to discourage anyone from trying to stop them.

The second incident occurred on April 26, 2022, shortly before 12:30 PM. An individual entered the business and began taking several items. As the individual fled the business, they threatened to shoot everyone inside the store.

A third incident occurred on October 7, 2022, shortly before 11:00 AM. Like the previous incidents, the individual entered the business, proceeded to grab several items, then fled the scene on foot.

Thanks to the collaborative work of dedicated OPD patrol officers and investigators, the individual was arrested, and when interviewed, provided a confession.

OPD officers continue to display keen investigative skills that bring justice to individuals responsible for committing crimes in our community.
