Workforce Development Board Policies
About
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) guides how local workforce systems provide services for employment and training.
WIOA policies ensure that services are accessible, equitable, and responsive. Oakland’s Workforce Development Board follows these policies by aligning programs with federal and state requirements, prioritizing underserved communities, and fostering partnerships with education, business, and community organizations.
Ultimately, the goal is for Oakland residents to have access to quality jobs and employers to connect with a skilled workforce.
