Initial Purchase of Lap Swim Pass Membership (Adult or Senior 10 and 30 Swim Pass) must be done in person. Lap Swim Pass Memberships are good for 1 year from date of purchase. You can renew your Lap Swim Pass online using your PerfectMind account.

The Covid-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the availability of OPRYD certified aquatics staff. As we add additional certified lifeguards, program hours, days, and times are subject to change and/or expand.

TEMESCAL POOL UPDATE

“The City is focused on improving day-to-day pool operations and addressing the condition of the pool facilities themselves. In the immediate term, we are retraining staff on pool operations and safety procedures, responding to Alameda County Health Department requirements on signage and scheduled replacement of pool parts, and working to fill the City’s vacant pool technician positions.

With respect to the Temescal Pool reopening timeline, we expect to complete the improvements and finalize the scheduled maintenance to reopen by the end of October.

Additionally, the City is moving forward with professional condition assessments of all our pools that will identify and prioritize needed repairs and provide preliminary cost estimates. The assessments and final reports are expected to take approximately three to six months from procurement through completion.

Those assessments will give us a clear roadmap for the capital investments our pools need. Once we understand and prioritize those needs, we will work through the City’s budget and capital planning processes and consider funding the repairs recommended by these assessments. There is not a single short-term fix: our goal is to put in place the staffing, training, operational accountability, and long-term capital investment needed to provide safe and reliable public pools for our Oakland community.”

*All Lap Swim Pass Memberships expire 1 year from the date of purchase.  

We are currently recruiting lifeguard certified staff which will allow us to expand lap swim and other program offerings.
