Attend a Bulky Block Party event for free large-item disposal

Join us on the last Saturday of every month for a Bulky Block Party to dispose of your large unwanted items -- the right way, and for free! Residents only. Please bring proof of residency, such as a utility bill.

Bulky Block Party events are held the last Saturday of every month (except during holiday weekends. See below.) from 9am to 1pm at 7101 Edgewater Drive, Oakland, CA. Oakland residents may drop off for free items that don't fit in their trash cart at home!

This service is open to Oakland residents only – proof of residency such as a household bill will be required (no businesses please).

Curbside Bulky Pickup service is provided by Waste Management of Alameda County as a part of the City of Oakland’s Zero Waste program.   • Saturday, November 19th – 3rd Saturday of the month since the 4th Saturday falls on Thanksgiving weekend
  • Saturday, December 17th – 3rd Saturday of the month since the 4th Saturday falls on the New Year's weekend

What materials are accepted?

All bulky trash is welcome, except for any hazardous waste or materials including: paints & coatings, oil, gasoline, auto fluids, propane, gas cylinders, cleaners/ bleach, garden products (pesticides, fertilizer, weed killer), batteries, bulbs/ lamps, syringes, pool & spa chemicals, appliances with hazardous waste such as antifreeze or oil, etc.

Who can participate?

All Oakland residents, including home owners and renters.

Who cannot come: businesses, for-hire haulers, contractors, painters, organizations, apartments & condominium managers, clubs, and non-profits.
