OPD Arrests Suspect Linked to Two Downtown Bank Robberies

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for two bank robberies at the same downtown Oakland bank.

Around 9:15 a.m. on July 9, 2026, and again on July 15, 2026, a suspect entered the bank, demanded money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. In the first incident, the suspect held an employee at knifepoint.

Based on witness statements, surveillance video, physical evidence, and follow-up investigation, Robbery Investigators determined the two robberies were connected and identified the suspect as an adult male Oakland resident.

On July 16, 2026, an Alameda County Judge issued a no-bail warrant for the suspect's arrest for robbery, false imprisonment, and violation of probation.

On July 17, 2026, Oakland Police Robbery Investigators located and safely arrested the suspect. The case has been referred to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
