You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide: OPD Seizes 170+ Sideshow Vehicles
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) continues to identify and hold accountable those responsible for organizing and participating in illegal sideshows.
In a recent case, investigators tracked down three vehicles involved in a sideshow that took place on August 2, 2025, in the area of Adeline Street and Market Street. Working with our law enforcement partners, officers seized vehicles in Redwood City, Petaluma, and Sacramento.
Just because you got away that night doesn’t mean we won’t find you. So far this year, OPD has seized more than 170 vehicles after they were involved in illegal sideshow activity in Oakland. The majority of those vehicles are registered outside the city. These numbers do not include vehicles towed directly by officers at or near a sideshow scene.
Sideshows are not entertainment; they are illegal and dangerous. If you participate in illegal sideshows in Oakland, your vehicle may be towed and held for 30 days.
OPD remains committed to holding participants accountable and keeping Oakland’s streets safe for everyone.
