OPD NEWS:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) continues to identify and hold accountable people involved in organizing, participating in, or evading officers during illegal sideshows in Oakland.
This year, OPD investigators, with support from the Flock Camera System and our law enforcement partners, have identified and seized more than 70 vehicles. In 2025, 195 vehicles were towed, and 23 people were arrested for police evasion, reckless driving, and illegal sideshow activity in Oakland.
Recently, investigators located and seized five vehicles from Stockton, San Pablo, Hayward, San Francisco, and Pittsburg for reckless driving related to illegal sideshow activity in Oakland.
Sideshows are illegal and dangerous, not a form of entertainment. Participation in illegal sideshows in Oakland may result in your vehicle being towed and held for 30 days.
OPD remains focused on preventing this illegal activity, which endangers our community. Investigators are actively working to identify and hold participants accountable.
OPD remains committed to protecting Oakland’s streets and public safety.
