OPD NEWS:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has arrested two individuals believed to be connected to a shooting on Saturday in Berkeley. On October 6, 2025, just after 3:30 p.m., OPD patrol officers attempted a vehicle enforcement stop in the 1300 block of 64th Avenue. The driver failed to comply and left at a high rate of speed, driving recklessly.
OPD patrol units briefly pursued the vehicle but ended the pursuit due to unsafe conditions. OPD’s helicopter, ARGUS, maintained visual contact as the vehicle traveled through multiple areas of Oakland. The vehicle eventually stopped at the intersection of Harold Street and Coolidge Avenue, where the driver exited and was taken into custody.
The vehicle’s passenger moved into the driver’s seat and left the scene, driving recklessly again. ARGUS continued to monitor the vehicle until it stopped at 41st Avenue and East 16th Street. The second driver exited the vehicle and was also taken into custody.
Officers recovered multiple firearms and ammunition. Both suspects were found to have several outstanding warrants for their arrest.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Criminal Investigations Division at (510) 238-3426. If you have any videos or photos that could assist with the investigation, please send them to
