OPD Arrests Suspects in Armed Robberies

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) continues to work hard every day to make our community safer by holding those who commit violent crimes accountable. This week, Officers made multiple arrests in connection with recent robbery investigations.
On August 3, OPD Patrol officers arrested an Oakland resident for an armed robbery involving two victims in the 5500 block of International Boulevard. Officers recovered a firearm and the stolen items. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges in this case.
On August 4, OPD’s Special Resource Section (SRS) East Officers arrested an Oakland resident for a robbery and assault that occurred on June 15, 2025, in the 200 block of 14th Street. The suspect has been charged with attempted homicide and robbery by the District Attorney’s Office.
On August 5, SRS East Officers arrested an Oakland resident for an armed robbery of a business in the 2900 block of High Street on July 29, 2025. Officers recovered a firearm during the arrest. The case is in the hands of the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
On August 6, OPD officers arrested a juvenile in connection with a strongarm robbery and attempted carjacking of a rideshare driver in April 2025. The juvenile was already in custody for a series of robberies in June 2025. The District Attorney’s Office is reviewing this case for charging.
Our Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Investigators play a vital role in these efforts. They conduct comprehensive investigations and work closely with the District Attorney’s Office to ensure that violent offenders are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
