OPD NEWS:
As part of the Oakland Police Department’s (OPD) ongoing efforts to keep our community safe, officers arrested two individuals for possession of narcotics for sale.
On October 11, 2025, OPD patrol officers in East Oakland responded to reports of drug activity called in to our drug hotline. When officers arrived in the 2400 block of 77th Avenue, they saw two individuals attempting to leave the area and noticed what appeared to be drug paraphernalia nearby.
Officers contacted the individuals and recovered suspected ecstasy pills and marijuana packaged for sale from one suspect and marijuana from the other. Both were taken into custody.
During the investigation, officers also located a nearby vehicle with a firearm in plain view. The keys to the vehicle were in the possession of one of the arrested individuals.
