More than 500 volunteers are registered to participate in watershed clean ups at 38 sites across the city

OAKLAND, CA – On Saturday, September 20, dozens of community organizations are partnering with Oakland Public Works to host watershed clean ups at shorelines, parks, and neighborhoods across the city for Oakland’s 30th annual Creek to Bay Day.

There will be 38 project sites where volunteers can lend a hand with trash removal, habitat restoration, planting, and other projects aimed at reducing pollution and protecting marine ecosystems. Volunteer event locations and details are available on the interactive map at www.oaklandca.gov/CreekToBayDay

This year Public Works will sponsor seven event sites—one in each City Council district. Community members are encouraged to join us at one of these locations, which can accommodate large groups of volunteers. Groups of 10 or more should RSVP with the project site coordinator. Individuals and small groups are encouraged, but not required, to RSVP.
