In response to community complaints, Oakland Police Department (OPD) patrol officers assigned to Area 6 in East Oakland recovered multiple firearms, suspected drugs, and took several people into custody during an investigation Wednesday.
Just after 7:45 p.m. on October 14, 2026, officers conducting a security check in the 500 block of 105th Avenue saw four individuals exiting a residence through windows. They detained the individuals and found a backpack containing suspected narcotics and packaging materials.
Officers contacted a person inside the home who agreed to a search of the residence the group was leaving. During the search, officers recovered two loaded firearms, including one with a 40-round magazine, and more than a dozen boxes of ammunition.
The investigation also resulted in the seizure of cash and suspected narcotics consistent with drug sales.
