Licensed Junk Haulers
The following is a list of junk haulers with active businesses licenses in Oakland. Never hire a junk hauler without an active business license. Request dump receipts from haulers before paying. A “good deal” may mean your stuff is being illegally dumped in Oakland, for which you could be cited and fined.
We strongly recommend that you schedule bulky junk pick up and drop off through Waste Management of Alameda County (WMAC) instead of a private hauler. Bulky services are available to all residents. Renters and owners can contact WMAC directly online or by phone to schedule an appointment.
All residents are entitled to one free curbside pick up and one free drop off at the Davis Street transfer station every year. Residents of single-family homes can schedule a second free curbside pick up after using their drop off appointment. If you have used all your free appointments for the year, you can schedule additional appointments for a fee.
