Call for Imagery for Slow Streets Signs
The City of Oakland's Department of Transportation (OakDOT) is developing a network of Slow Streets to promote sustainable travel at human-powered speeds and to encourage the use of these neighborhood streets as community spaces. As part of the Slow Streets projects, you are invited to help bring these streets to life—one sign at a time.
We’re looking for two-tone graphic designs to be featured on “SLOW” signs along our Slow Streets. These signs mark the routes and remind drivers to reduce their speeds and share the road—and your imagery can help make that message more vibrant, visible, and community-centered. Whether you’re a professional, a student, or a creative neighbor—everyone is welcome to submit designs.
By submitting an image, you are agreeing to allow OakDOT to use the image for this purpose. Your image may go into an image library for use on Slow Streets signs around Oakland. Staff will follow up with you if your image is chosen.
