Plant species have been approved, and the contractor is awaiting procurement of materials before landscaping installation can proceed. Project Update as of October 2026:

Repaving for the Shattuck Avenue and 56^th Street intersection is underway. Please see below for our approximate construction schedule:

• October 14: Utility lowering in preparation for paving was completed.
• Week of October 19: Changeable message signs (CMS) will be placed along Shattuck Avenue to notify the public of upcoming detours and expected delays.
• Week of October 26: Paving operations are scheduled to begin.

At this time, we are working to maintain thru-traffic for both Shattuck and 56th during construction- however, please note that unforeseen underground conditions may require traffic on 56th to be shutdown at night (traffic on Shattuck would be maintained).
