Bicycle and Pedestrian Program

About
The Bicycle & Pedestrian Program is part of OakDOT's Safe Streets Division. Our work includes planning, engineering, data management, and outreach to:
- Facilitate, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of the City's Bicycle Plan and Pedestrian Plan;
- Build projects that improve safety and access for pedestrians and bicyclists;
- Create, manage, and analyze transportation data;
- Assist other City divisions and outside agencies on projects that include bicyclist and pedestrian facilities; and
- Partner with organizations and departments providing bicyclist and pedestrian programming to Oakland residents.
BPAC
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Program provides staff support to Oakland's Bicyclist and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) which advises the City on programs and projects related to walking and bicycling. Meetings take place in City Hall starting at 6:00pm on the third Thursday of the month and are open to the public.
