Ben Mahrer

Ben Mahrer joined the Public Ethics Commission as an Ethics Investigator in March of 2026. Previously, Mr. Mahrer worked as a Senior Associate at Social Policy Research Associates, where he led evaluations and provided technical assistance and regulatory oversight of U.S. Department of Labor workforce initiatives. Mr. Mahrer also has experience conducting impact and implementation studies of K-12 education technology and curricula with WestEd. He brings a rigorous approach to qualitative data collection and evaluation that is grounded in his background conducting research and evaluation in the public sector.

Mr. Mahrer holds an MPA from the University of Washington and a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Berkeley.
