Chinatown Walking Tour

Next date: Friday, October 10, 2025 | 12:00 PM to 02:30 PM

Join us as we stroll Oakland Chinatown, perusing the sights, sounds and tastes of an area of deeply rooted local historical and cultural influence. We will walk about a 6-block radius, exploring local venues, businesses and tasty food items only found in this unique gem of our lovely Town. Oakland Chinatown was settled in the 1850s, shortly after the gold rush. In 1906, the San Francisco earthquake and fire wrecked San Francisco Chinatown, causing thousands of San Francisco Chinese survivors to move to Oakland to rebuild their lives in the East Bay.

What's included when you join the tour:

  • Insights from local Chinatown businesses, merchants and community members
  • 2-hour walking tour with time to eat, shop and engage

As we interact with locals businesses, some guiding questions we’ll be asking include:

  • What improvements would help your business thrive?
  • What types of resources or support would be most helpful?
  • What changes would you like to see in Oakland Chinatown to help your business succeed?

Please confirm your RSVP to Acacia at acacia@ethnicties.org.
