Join us as we stroll Oakland Chinatown, perusing the sights, sounds and tastes of an area of deeply rooted local historical and cultural influence. We will walk about a 6-block radius, exploring local venues, businesses and tasty food items only found in this unique gem of our lovely Town. Oakland Chinatown was settled in the 1850s, shortly after the gold rush. In 1906, the San Francisco earthquake and fire wrecked San Francisco Chinatown, causing thousands of San Francisco Chinese survivors to move to Oakland to rebuild their lives in the East Bay.
