RENTAL INFORMATION
Update 7.20.26: The Redwood Heights Recreation Center no longer rents the inside of the Recreation Center. Please contact Central Reservations for a list of facilities that they are taking reservations for.
We currently have no availability in our outside bbq area, until October 2026 (and only Sundays are available).
Located in the beautiful Oakland hills, Redwood Heights Recreation Center offers a wide variety of programming serving community members of all ages. The most popular activities youth activities are Karate, Summer Town Experience Camp - Redwood Heights, and Town After School Program. Join us for one of our adult classes of Karate & Yoga.

Our Activities
Summer Town Experience Camp registration began February 2026 online and we are currently full.
Town After School Program for the 2026/2027 school year at Redwood Heights, online registration begins on Monday April 20 at 12 pm. We are currently full. Please add to the waiting list.

Cuong Nhu Redwood Dojo has offered traditional martial arts training to the Oakland community since 1992. With classes at the Redwood Heights Community Center, we provide serious, ongoing training in a beautiful facility, at a very low cost.
Cuong Nhu is a comprehensive martial arts style that draws techniques and principles from a variety of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese martial arts. The foundational basis of physical skills taught is the importance of respect, good character, and the avoidance of conflict.
The formal martial arts structure gives students of all ages a chance to learn martial arts skills and so much more. They have fun while exercising, learning self-defense skills, increasing self-confidence, developing control, and cultivating respect.
The children’s classes are divided by age, with each group meeting twice a week. Students learn Cuong Nhu Martial Arts while developing discipline and respect in a safe and supportive environment. The pace and rigor of each class is designed for the age group it serves, with the oldest Kids C class preparing students to transition into the teen program.
Kids A (ages 6-7): Monday 5-6 pm & Saturdays 9-10 am ($75 per month)
Kids B (ages 8-9): Tuesday & Thursday 4-5 pm ($75 per month)
Kids C (ages 10-12): Tuesday & Thursday 5-6 pm ($75 per month)

Yoga with Liz
Join our uplifting yoga class featuring deep, restorative stretches and a variety of movements designed to build strength and improve mobility. This 60-minute class emphasizes healthy alignment, mindful breathing, and body awareness. All poses can be easily modified, making the class suitable for all ability levels. Come breathe, laugh, and find both physical and mental ease.
Schedule:
Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:00–11:00 AM
Liz has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. She enjoys hiking, reading, pickleball, gardening, and volunteering at her child’s elementary school.
Registration for our adult/senior classes (Karate & Yoga) are ongoing and you may register & begin at any time at the center.

Any group over 10 persons, needs a permit.
- $75 deposit
- $40 per hour
- $15 processing fee
- Maximum of 49 people allowed
- No alcohol.
- No animals.
- Jumpers ok (we will need copy of insurance from jumper company 2 weeks prior to event. Generator needed (no electricity outside).
Cancellation Fees
- 61 days or more notice prior to your event: Forfeit 1/2 of deposit
- 31-60 days notice prior to your event: Forfeit entire deposit
- 11-30 days notice prior to your event: Forfeit entire deposit + 1/2 of rental fees paid
- 10 days or less: Forfeit entire deposit + entire rental fees paid

Rental Application Process
To secure an available date, please ask to put a 24 hour hold onto that date. Within those 24 hours (only during open office hours), you would need to come in to the Redwood Heights Recreation Center and fill out the application and pay for reservation in full.
