Submit advertising content for digital Kiosks & Billboards

The City, local community organizations and non-profits, small businesses, and artists have the opportunity to leverage free advertising on IKE digital kiosks and billboards (Becker Boards and Outfront Foster Interstate, LLC), as described in the City's agreements with each vendor. Content on these assets can promote City branding, services, programs and events, as well as emergency and public service messaging. Community organizations, businesses, and artists and can submit content that promotes their work, services, or events related to their organization. Please click the link above to submit a request form to be featured on the IKE digital kiosks and/or billboards.

 

Note: all submissions are subject to approval by the Citywide Communications Director and City Administrator's Office. Staff will try to accommodate all advertising requests, however, priority will be given to time-sensitive content. Submitting a request does not guarantee that your advertising content will be posted but staff will coordinate with all impacted requesters, and may propose options such as sharing a portion of the City's advertising allotment, to expand access and include more than one organization or advertising campaign.

Step 1.Submit a Request to Advertise  

Submit your prepared advertising content for IKE Kiosks and/or billboards by completing the request form at this link. Please ensure that all information is provided, including contact information and the start and end dates of the ad campaign. Artwork specifications are detailed below.

All content must be submitted through this form at least 3 weeks in advance of the target start date for your campaign. All content is subject to approval by the City Administrator’s Office (CAO), including the Citywide Communications Team, prior to submission to the requested vendor(s).   

Step 2.Internal Review and Submission 

CAO staff will inform the submitter by email when the content has been approved and submitted to the vendor(s) for posting. If you do not receive an update within one week of submitting your content, please email RRubel@oaklandca.gov. 

Step 3.Confirm Posting

CAO staff will inform the submitter by email when the vendor(s) has confirmed that the content is scheduled to be posted on the digital kiosks and/or billboards.

Becker Boards 

Billboard sign ads must be created in either one of two sizes, 14'H x 48'W bulletin or 20'H x 60'W bulletin.

Outfront Foster Interstate (OFI), LLC Billboards

Outfront Foster Interstate billboard ad specifications. Required file size is 208 pixels (H) x 720 pixels (W) - no bleed.
  • File requirements:
    • Static images only
    • Maximum file size: 1MG
    • No audio
    • File format: .jpg
    • Color mode: sRBG
    • Bright white backgrounds are not suggested as they may create copy burnout. If using a white background, a target value of R235, G235, B235 (also known as “broadcast safe white”) is recommended.

     

  • Required file sizes (both sizes needed):

IKE Kiosks

Kiosk artwork must be created as two files, one for each of the sizes:

  • Vertical orientation: 1920px H x 1080px W
  • Horizontal Orientation: 1090px H x 1920px W
IKE Kiosk content specifications: Kiosk artwork must be created as two files, one for each of the sizes. Vertical orientation size is 1920 pixels (H) x 1080 pixels (W). Horizontal Orientation: 1820 px (length) x 1920 px (wide)

-Note: when the digital screen goes to interactive engagement mode, the advertisement moves to the top 1/3 of the kiosk screen (horizontal orientation).
