Direct Community Grant Program

The Oakland City Council supports Oakland-based nonprofits and community-based organizations that provide direct services or programs to Oakland Residents and are working to advance the City's racial equity goals.

Program Overview

Cooking Class

The Council is looking to fund community based projects that are aligned with the following City Council Priorities:

  • Affordable Housing & Homelessness Solutions
  • Public Safety & Violence Prevention
  • Good Jobs and Vibrant Economy
  • Clean, Healthy, and Sustainable Neighborhoods

Organizations can receive grants to help advance racial equity by focusing on priority neighborhoods, creating economic opportunities, and/or promoting health and safety.

Application Process - Closed

The Direct Community Grant program is unfunded for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Nonprofit and Community-Based Organizations who wish to apply in the future must register in iSupplier for future notifications.
