The City of Oakland adopted the Central Estuary Area Plan (CEAP) and related environmental document, to guide future development in the Central Estuary Area which encompasses 19th Ave. to 54th Ave and I-880 to the Estuary.

Clean Water Agreement

A regional agreement to settle a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been reached in the form of a Federal Consent Decree (CD) focused on significantly improving the aging sewer infrastructure and protect the San Francisco Bay from sewage spills.

Creeks, Watershed and Stormwater

We strive to restore and preserve Oakland's creeks, lakes and watershed to create a thriving urban ecosystem. We work with our community to reduce water use and keep harmful materials out of the environment. Oakland's watershed is comprised of 15 main creeks, over 30 tributaries, Lake Merritt and the Estuary.

Policies and Procedures Committee (PPC)

The Policies and Procedures Committee (PPC) meets as needed to discuss topics such as noticing practices, contents of staff reports, and other non-project-related administrative matters. The PPC is an official committee of the Planning Commission.

Residential Appeals Committee (RAC)

The Residential Appeals Committee (RAC) meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month when there are items to review. The RAC is an official committee of the Planning Commission.

Studio One Art Center Advisory Board

Alameda County Comprehensive Investment Plan

The Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC) administers a Comprehensive Investment Plan (CIP), which draws from fund sources including Measure BB and Transportation Fund for Clean Air (TFCA, a local fund source of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District) for the entire County.

Youth Boating and Sailing Camps

The City of Oakland's Lake Merritt Boating Center offers summer boating camps for youth ages 7 to 17 on Lake Merritt and on the Oakland Estuary. Campers advance in skills as they progress through the camps and grow older. Teens have an opportunity to train to be Junior Leaders for the summer camps. Registration, extended care, refund and transfer policy, locations, and scholarship information is at the bottom of this page.

East Oakland Neighborhoods Initiative

The East Oakland Neighborhoods Initiative is a partnership between the City of Oakland Planning Bureau and twelve community-based organizations focused on equity-based planning for Deep East Oakland. Together, we have conducted a year of community outreach to identify the primary concerns, goals, and priorities for East Oakland residents and stakeholders. Our final Community Plan, linked below, contains the major findings from our year of community outreach, as well as recommended next steps. Please take a look!
