What is ....
A Massage Establishment is defined as any establishment having a fixed place of business where any person, firm, association, or corporation engages in, activities mentioned in this chapter.
A Massage Therapist is defined as any person who, for any consideration whatsoever, engages in the practice of massage as herein defined, whether in a massage establishment within the city, in their residence or on an out-call basis anywhere within the city. Massage therapists who possess the CAMTC certification do not need the City of Oakland Massage Therapist permit.
