OPD NEWS:

Missing Person McDaniel Smith: At Risk Due to Age

The Oakland Police Department is requesting assistance from our community and media partners in locating Missing Person, McDaniel Smith, who is at risk due to age.

He was last seen on June 30, 2023, in the 3800 block of MacArthur Boulevard, at 1:30 PM. He was last seen wearing a hat with “Best Dad” written on the front, blue windbreaker jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes.

Smith is described as an 89-year-old black male. He stands 6’1” and weighs 125 pounds, gray hair, and brown eyes. The family reports Smith is in good physical condition but is diagnosed with dementia.

If you have any knowledge or information regarding the whereabouts of Smith, please notify the Oakland Police Department's Missing Persons Unit at 510-238-3641.
