OPD Spring Eggstravaganza: Fostering Community Celebration in Oakland Schools
This week, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) held our sixth annual “OPD Spring Eggstravaganza” celebrations. As part of OPD Acts of Kindness, the National Latino Peace Officers Association-ACC, the Oakland Asian Police Officers Association, and the Black Officers Association hosted this year’s events at three schools.
More than 400 Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) students participated in the Eggstravaganza. The police associations’ unwavering support and commitment made these festivities possible, fostering a community celebration among our students.
The highlight of the events was the presence of our very own Officer Cottontail, whose spirited performance brought smiles and laughter to all in attendance. We are grateful for each officer who embraced their role of giving back and contributed to the event’s success.
A special thank you to our Police Officer Trainees (POT), whose assistance in the event preparation was invaluable. Their hard work behind the scenes helped make this a memorable experience for all the students.
We also extend a heartfelt thank you to our community member, Ms. Singleton, for her exceptional dedication and efforts in assisting with preparation and participation at each event. This event exemplifies the spirit of community engagement that we are dedicated to at OPD.
