OPD Recovers More than a Dozen Firearms and Ammunition

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) successfully recovered 16 firearms and ammunition in the 3800 block of 39th Avenue.

On March 4, 2024, Officers responded to a report of a verbal dispute, which escalated to an individual pointing a firearm at a victim. Based on their preliminary investigation, officers determined there was a significant threat to the safety of the victim and community. Officers executed a search warrant on the individual’s residence and located legally registered and stolen firearms, along with ammunition.

The recovery of these firearms is a testament to the commitment and diligence of OPD in combating gun violence. OPD remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community members.
