Homicide Investigation in the 8300 block of A Street

On January 16, 2021, at approximately 10:50 PM, Oakland police officers responded to the 8300 block of A Street on a report of a shooting. A female adult Oakland resident sustained gunshot wound(s) and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

On January 16, 2021, Oakland police officers responded to the 8300 block of A Street on a report of a shooting. A female adult Oakland resident sustained gunshot wound(s) and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

On January 19, 2021, the victim, a grandmother, succumbed to her injuries Oakland Police Homicide Investigators began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent homicide. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. Anyone with information can contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at 238-7950.
