Homicide Investigation in the 7800 block of Bancroft Avenue

On January 26, 2021, at approximately 8:32 PM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 7800 block of Bancroft Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).

On January 26, 2021, at approximately 8:32 PM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 7800 block of Bancroft Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). Officers on scene attempted life-saving measures. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew were on scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent homicide. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. Anyone with information can contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at 238-7950.
