Homicide Investigation in the 1400 block of 77th Avenue

On September 24th, 2020, at approx. 4:30 pm, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of 77th Avenue on a report of a shooting.

On September 24th, 2020, at approx. 4:30 pm, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of 77th Avenue on a report of a shooting. Responding officers located an adult male Oakland resident suffering from a gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Witnesses provided a named suspect.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. While on scene at approx. 7:20 pm, the suspect returned to the scene and was taken into custody. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
