Arrest Made in November 2023 Homicide Case
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has arrested Adelto Medizabal in connection with the homicide of Gerardo Abreau, which occurred on November 30, 2023, in the 2600 block of 74th Avenue.
Thanks to the tireless and collaborative efforts of OPD Homicide Investigators and the Morgan Hill Police Department, Medizabal was safely taken into custody on November 30, 2023, the night of the homicide.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against Medizabal for his involvement in the crime.
Background:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a stabbing that occurred on November 30, 2023, in the 2600 block of 74th Avenue, shortly before 6:45 PM. The OPD Communications Division was notified that a stabbing occurred in the area and that the victim was self-transporting to an area hospital.
Shortly after, the OPD Communications Division was notified of a stabbing victim who arrived at an area hospital. Hospital personnel provided medical treatment to the victim, but unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries.
