Homicide Investigation in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way

On October 26th, 2020 at about 1:20 PM, the Oakland Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way on a medical call.

On October 26th, 2020 at about 1:20 PM, the Oakland Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way on a medical call. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult suffering from an apparent stab wound. Officers provided aid, summoned emergency medical personnel and the victim was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
