How to Participate in this Public Meeting:

  • Enter City Hall at the entrance on 14th Street.
  • After receiving a security check, proceed to the stairs farthest from the 14th Street entrance, on the left.
  • Hearing Room 4 is located on the 2nd floor of City Hall on the side of the building farthest from 14th Street. There will be a sign-in sheet and paper agenda packets for participants.

Remote participation including public comment via teleconferencing is not available at this time. Hybrid meetings may commence once the City of Oakland has established meeting procedures and allocated resources for simultaneously supporting in-person and remote participation. All Commission meetings will include procedures to comply with the open meeting requirements of the City’s Sunshine Ordinance and the State’s Brown Act.

  1. Recent Bicyclist and Pedestrian Fatal Traffic Crashes

    Commissioner Schader (patricias.oakland@gmail.com) will lead the commission in a discussion of recent fatal and other high-profile traffic crashes in Oakland involving bicyclists and pedestrians.

    • On Thursday, December 28th, 2023 at approximately 7:23 PM, a 47-year-old Hispanic male pedestrian was killed by a driver in a collision at the 7600 block of International Boulevard on the westbound side of the street 48 feet east of 76th Avenue.
    • On Monday, January 1st, 2024 at approximately 12:44 AM, a 23-year-old Black female pedestrian was killed on the sidewalk by a driver “doing donuts” in a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of International Boulevard and 42nd Avenue.
    • On Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at approximately 12:56 PM, a 59-year-old Black female pedestrian crossing the street was killed by a driver in a hit-and-run collision on San Pablo Avenue 900 feet north of 23rd Street.
  2. BPAC Chair’s Report to the Public Works and Transportation Committee

    BPAC Chair Dianne Yee (yee.bpac@gmail.com) will present a revised and final 2023 BPAC Chair's Report to Oakland City Council’s Public Works Committee for the BPAC's review and approval.

  3. Nominations & Elections for BPAC Chair and Vice Chair

    Staff will facilitate nominations and elections for 2023 BPAC Officers, following the process described in BPAC’s By-Laws (https://cao-94612.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/BPAC-By-Laws.pdf.)

  4. Capital Improvement Program Overview for Fiscal Years 2023-2025

    Yvonne Chan (YChan@oaklandca.gov), Transportation Planner II with OakDOT’s Capital Finance team, will provide an overview of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) process for the 2023-2025 fiscal year term and upcoming milestones.

  5. Committee Overviews, Report Backs, and New Assignments

    Committees of the BPAC will provide brief overviews and updates to the Commission. All commissioners will be given the opportunity to volunteer for, switch, or remove themselves from the Commission’s committees and liaison positions.
