Marc Barach

Marc was initially appointed to PRAC in December 2022 and was appointed to a second term in March 2024. He has lived in Oakland since 1987, residing in District 4 for 26 years.  Now retired, Marc enjoyed a lengthy career as an executive in financial services and venture-backed tech companies. Marc also serves as Co-Chair of the East Bay Regional Park District’s Hiking Safety Patrol and is a Search & Rescue Team member. He has a deep love of the outdoors and is an avid hiker and backpacker. Marc believes that providing Oaklanders with access to well-maintained parks and vibrant recreation programs is central to our collective well-being and serves as a cornerstone of a healthy society.
