Mira M. White is an award winning painter with an exhibition record both domestic and international, and has been an art instructor for over 30 years. Her professional responsibilities include a full teaching schedule of classes and workshops in multiple media. Currently teaching at Lafayette Studio in Walnut Creek, Studio One Art Center in Oakland, Richmond Art Center and the Mendocino Art Center, she also organizes and conducts numerous workshops in Pastels, Watercolor and Mixed Media, including several painting workshops in other states and in France. Encaustic Arts Magazine (online will feature her work in its upcoming June issue.) The Pastel Journal featured her mixed media work in its Jan/Feb 2011 issue. Her work is included in the 2010 anthology Best In American Water Media, and she is also featured on a recent DVD A Walk Into Abstracts. (Now sold on Amazon- Journeys Into Abstraction.) She received the Grand Prize at the popular Rocky Mountain National Aqua-media Exhibition in 2001, was presented in Watercolor Magic, winter 2002 and was a 3rd place winner in the national Pastel Journal competition of 2006. Exhibitions in 2014 included a 2 person exhibit at Epperson Gallery and a 2 person exhibit at Christie Marks Gallery in Healdsburg. Other recent exhibits have included the Triton Watercolor Annual, The CWA National, Encaustic Masters ( Oregon) Telling Stories through Art, (Diablo Valley College), Conversations, a 3 person exhibit (San Pablo Gallery),a solo exhibition at the Mendocino Art Center., EncaustiCon, San Antonio, Texas, and The Future of the Past: Encaustic Art of the 21st Century at Mills Gallery, Boston Center of the Arts. She is represented by the Highlight Gallery in Mendocino and the Epperson Gallery in Crockett. BFA with High Distinction, MFA with Distinction California College of Arts & Crafts.
