Programs at Studio One Art Center

ACTING CLASSES FOR ADULTS Some of the Bay Area’s most innovative drama teachers, modeling coaches, and costume designers will instruct novices, experienced actors, and models seeking professional coaching.

CITYWIDE DANCE PROGRAM This program has been a vibrant part of Oakland inspiring youth ages 6-18 to perform dance throughout the Bay Area A variety of dance styles including African, Haitian, tap, modern, ballet and folklorico are offered.

FILM CLASSES FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS If you always wanted to make a film but did not know how to get started, join one of our film classes. Learn how to write a film script, storyboard, film and edit your short movie from the pros.

THE VAGABOND PUPPETS The show tours during the summer. The Puppet Master teaches one class each year in Puppetry and Magic. If you are interested in having the Vagabond Puppet Show perform at your next event, contact Studio One Art Center.

COMMUNITY THEATRE Oakland features the best in theatre and drama classes for adults and children. Come out to audition and have fun.

OAKLAND MUNICIPAL BAND
Since 1912 the Oakland Municipal Band has been performing free concerts in Lakeside Park at the historic Edoff Memorial Bandstand. Come and bring your lawn chair and picnic starting on July 4th and continuing on Sundays, in July. Concerts run from from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The band consists of 35 professional musicians and all concerts offer an array of jazz, pop, big band, international, classical, marches and showtunes.
