OPD offers two options for the written examination requirement to become a police officer. The National Testing Network (NTN) Frontline Test is offered every other month in Oakland. The second option is the Police Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB). OPD will accept PELLETB results from any POST-certified test provider, including South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium (SBRPSTC). The SBRPSTC also offers the NTN Frontline Test.
