A General Plan Amendment is required if a proposed project does not comply with the established General Plan Designation for a property.

General Plan Amendments may be requested to enable a change in land use for future development that is not permitted by a property's existing land use designation. The General Plan is also amended to update or change existing goals and policies of the City.
