No trenching or excavation is allowed on any street that has been constructed or resurfaced within the last five years without express permission of the Department of Public Works. Emergency work is exempt. Replacement of trench paving shall match or exceed the most recent resurfacing pavement section depth and material or as directed by the Engineer for traffic index in accordance with the latest City of Oakland Standard Details for Public Works Construction (see above "Street Excavation Rules").
